Lake Trout

 

Lake trout:  “I am the lake trout. 

 I am the biggest fish in Vermont.

I am the king of the water,

King of the fish, 

The strongest.”

 

Prey:  “I thought the sharks were.”

 

Trout:  “Well, uhhhh . . . . They are all blue.  They can’t be trusted.  Wait, can’t I just eat YOU?”

 

Prey:  “I don’t think that’s wise.”

 

Trout:  “I don’t care.  I’m hungry.”

 

Prey:  “Wait!  NNnnnnoo . . . .”

 

Trout:  “Yum.  Fish.  I am king.  I can grow five to thirty inches in length, just like my dad did when he was a kid.  And I am fifteen pounds now.  I remember being a little five pound lake trout, but I can grow and grow.  Just call me king of the water.”
